Two documents, one matter
The WIPO cover notice and Turkish decision should be read together.
Appoint our Istanbul office to handle the Turkish response to a Madrid provisional refusal for you or your client. Send the WIPO notice and international registration number for assessment and a written quotation.
Forward the WIPO cover notice and the Turkish decision. The international registration number and stated response date help us assess the local procedure.
Ask us about your case →For a Madrid designation, the WIPO notification and the underlying Turkish refusal must be read together. Provide the international registration number and complete notice so we can identify the affected protection and the local response required.
The WIPO cover notice and Turkish decision should be read together.
The substantive objection is handled under the applicable Turkish procedure.
Share the notification and stated deadline so we can triage promptly.
A provisional refusal must be reviewed under the relevant Turkish trademark procedure alongside the WIPO notification. The grounds, affected goods or services and procedural history determine the response. Arguments against descriptiveness differ from arguments concerning an earlier trademark; a useful assessment identifies that distinction before recommending an appeal.
The WIPO notification communicates the provisional refusal affecting the Turkey designation. The Turkish decision and its attachments explain the local grounds and response procedure. Send both documents, including the relevant dates and full goods and services list.
A response to the Turkish grounds is handled through the applicable Turkish procedure; replying only to a WIPO email does not substitute for the local action. We check whether the instruction concerns an office objection, opposition or further review before preparing it.
Review the refusal grounds and scope, identify relevant evidence, discuss the response options and prepare the agreed Turkish submission. A quotation specifies whether it includes official fees, translation, evidence review and reporting of the decision.
The quotation depends on grounds of refusal, affected classes, evidence volume, translation needs and the response stage.
Confirm refusal assessment, preparation of the instructed response, evidence review and any Turkish translations. Official fees and later actions are listed separately in the quotation.
Protection in other designated countries does not resolve the Turkish objection. A foreign registration can form part of the file context, but its value depends on the issue raised. Any later review, court action or new filing is assessed separately.
A refusal from one designated member does not automatically remove protection in other members. For Turkey, check whether the refusal affects all or only part of the designated specification. The notice should be reviewed before deciding which rights require a response.
Provide the WIPO communication, the attached Turkish decision and all relevant dates. A screenshot of the status alone does not identify the full grounds or the response route.
Tell us which goods or services matter to the client and whether the decision is total or partial. Include the international registration record and any cited earlier marks.
List earlier registrations, relevant correspondence and any material you want assessed. Whether evidence is useful depends on the grounds; a foreign registration alone does not resolve a Turkish refusal.
Confirm the task, professional work, official fees, translation and evidence preparation in the quotation. An initial assessment request is not confirmation that a response will be filed.
