Trademark renewal in Turkey: verify the record before payment
Renewal instructions should identify the registration, owner and intended scope. A name change or assignment can make an old certificate an incomplete guide to the current record. We review the reference before confirming the renewal work.
When does a Turkish trademark need renewal?
A national Turkish trademark is protected for ten years from its application date and can be renewed for further ten-year periods. The registration date is not the starting point for that protection term.

Confirm the expiry and current status in the register before instructing payment. A Madrid international registration is renewed through WIPO; it is not renewed as a national Turkish registration.

Send the national registration number or Madrid international registration number, current holder name and the latest renewal confirmation. These identify the renewal channel and help prevent paying against an outdated record.
What must be checked with the renewal date?
Check the expiry record, current owner, intended classes or scope and any name or ownership changes. The applicable ordinary or late renewal position must be confirmed from the actual record; an old reminder is not enough.

Turkey trademark renewal deadline: which date matters?
For a national Turkish registration, the ten-year protection period runs from the application date. Ordinary renewal is requested within the six months before expiry, with payment information submitted in that period. A further six months after expiry is available with an additional fee.
Before the ordinary deadline
Send the registration number and current owner details early enough to check the register, agree the scope and complete payment and filing. A quotation enquiry alone does not renew the mark.
After expiry
If expiry has passed, send the record immediately so the late-renewal position can be checked. Do not assume renewal remains available after the additional six-month period.
National or Madrid renewal?
A Madrid international registration is renewed through WIPO. Its international registration record determines that renewal; do not use the Turkish national renewal route simply because Turkey is designated.
